The Importance Of Perfect Quality LED Lights In Hospitals

As more people are seeing the benefits of switching from traditional incandescent light bulbs to the newer variety of LED lighting products Australia has to offer, it isn’t just residential energy bills that can be reduced significantly. Businesses and commercial properties are also benefitting from the savings and improved lighting quality, which is why the next step in eco lighting has to be with hospitals.

Hospitals have extremely high standards when it comes to treatments and medicine for their patients, so it is little wonder why only the best quality and efficient systems are approved for use within the hospitals building complex. LED lighting and power saving lighting is one tremendous force for good when it comes to offering high quality white light in just about any location.

Improved COB And SMD LED Lighting Chips

It used to be the case that LED lights were a great choice when it came to lamp bulb replacement or small accent lighting around the home due to the low power output of the bulbs. But now there has been a rapid increase in industrial, commercial and residential LED lighting products that have increased their brightness and quality of light with it.

LED lights on average use roughly 80% less energy than an equivalent traditional bulb which are used in most houses and some commercial buildings. Many hospitals choose to opt for strip lighting, which has generally included tungsten tube to produce light. Whilst the tungsten tubes are great for lighting large areas with a single bulb, they aren’t all that energy efficient.

New LED lighting products aim to replace the tungsten tubes with LED strips that produce not only the same amount of light that their counterparts do, but they produce that light using less energy than a tungsten tube ever could.

A Higher Quality Of Light

The brightness of light is measured in lumens, and whilst a 60w traditional incandescent bulb will produce 800 lumens, only a 13w LED bulb is needed to produce the same 800 lumens - a remarkable saving of energy over time. In hospitals, a replacement of tungsten or fluorescent tube strip lighting for LED strip lights over a period of a year would amount to a fraction of the energy bill total compared to older technology.

Hospitals have huge potential to save money on their lighting bills, and with special LED lights they are able to boost lighting reach and usage. LED lights produce a highly focused lighting pattern of very high quality, as well as being able to tune the lighting colour to any specific need. This means that gone are the days of dreary yellow waiting rooms and recovery wards, and hello to the pure, white daylight lighting that is produced by a 5500k tuned LED light.

A Healthier Lighting Scheme

In operation theatres and patient care rooms, pure, clean lighting has been known to increase patient mood and help people to stay alert. Many studies have concluded that exposure to a lighting colour temperature of daylight is beneficial, which is why sales of natural light home lamps have increased many fold in the past decade.

Saving money, creating well-lit environments and creating a lighting system that doesn’t cost a fortune to run is the main reason why so many hospital buildings across the country can invest in future savings, as well as their patients, doctors and nurses. Going LED have never been easier or cheaper, so if you are looking to make savings on your energy bills, using commercial LED lighting is the quickest solution that will keep on paying into the future.
